[ES below] Órbita W is a decolonial photographic project about the Argentine satellites and our ability to dream.
Historically, the continents that send the most satellites into space year after year are from the north: United States and Europe, where some of them offer great internet services at a very high cost for the countries of our region. Latin America, despite its excellent scientific quality, sends satellites on specific occasions, these being emblems for Latin American countries.
The most recent Argentine satellites have been launched into space with the intention of generating better connectivity conditions and images for our territory. For us they are an exercise in sovereignty, creation and an example of the completion of a collective dream.
In this project I am interested in imagining how these devices look at our region, what the spaces where they are created and repaired are like, what characters we imagine when thinking about these spaces and how we can think of new narratives around them outside the spatial stereotype of other parts of the world. world. Now, in a DIY way, I am working on an antenna to investigate how to obtain images from these satellites.
With a political view of imagination and creativity, I am interested in mixing photography and fiction to think about new perspectives within documentary photography. This project is part of a larger project that has to do with the sovereignty of our territory and how photographic creation can rethink the images and narratives of our land.
Project carried out together with Agustin Bacigalup, who developed this satellite tracker to see where the satellites sent into space by the Latin, North American and European continents are.

Órbita W es un homenaje fotográfico a los satélites argentinos y a nuestra capacidad de soñar.
Históricamente, los continentes que más satélites envían al espacio año tras año son Estados Unidos y Europa, donde algunos de ellos ofrecen grandes servicios de internet a un costo altísimo para los países de nuestra región. Latinoamérica, a pesar de su excelente calidad científica, envía satélites en ocasiones específicas, siendo estos emblemas para los países latinoamericanos.
Los satélites argentinos más recientes han sido lanzados al espacio con la intención de generar mejores condiciones de conectividad e imágenes para nuestro territorio. Para nosotres son un ejercicio de soberanía, creación y un ejemplo de finalización de un sueño colectivo.
En este proyecto me interesa imaginar cómo estos dispositivos miran nuestra región, cómo son los espacios donde se crean y reparan, qué personajes imaginamos al pensar en estos espacios y cómo podemos pensar nuevas narrativas en torno a ellos por fuera del estereotipo espacial de otras partes del mundo. Ahora, de un modo autogestivo, estoy trabajando en una antena para investigar cómo obtener imágenes de estos satélites.
Con una mirada política de la imaginación y la creatividad, me interesa mezclar fotografía y ficción para pensar nuevas perspectivas dentro de la fotografía documental. Este proyecto es parte de un proyecto más grande que tiene que ver con la soberanía de nuestro territorio y en cómo la creación fotográfica puede repensar las imágenes y las narrativas de nuestra tierra.
